Raggedy Jan has been a professional crafts person for the past 30 years. She is a self taught artist giving her paintings that unique one of a kind style. Her specialty is country and New England style folk art scenes which feature saltbox houses, old barns, wagons and sheep.
Most of the items are useful household items such as vintage canister sets, Breadboxes, wall decor and lamps. All refinished and distressed for that warm primitive or early look.

Primitive Ewe's love of old vintage quilts and textiles is quite evident in her work. Her specialty is the life size old world Santa's and Father Christmas. Each unique piece is crafted from antique quilt, woolen blanket or coverlet, with a hand sculpted face and carries an electric candle or lantern and occasionally has a sheep or reindeer by his side. He may carry a sack or pull a wagon which would be filled with antique toys or primitive items she creates.
When she is not creating her seasonal items, she is busy making table runners from antique quilts that are usually hand quilted, vintage coverlets and other primitive textiles. Careful to use only quality pieces, the scraps are set aside to be used in ornies, rag balls and other decorative pieces. Aside from the vintage, she also creates the primitive dolls, snowmen, Americana and Halloween items, all grunged with her special technique that gives them a rustic time worn look.

Together we scout out the barn sales looking for old rustic primitive items to turn into a unique treasure. It is amazing to see an old rusty piece take on a whole new life with a bit of paint and hand made sunflower or crow. A tattered antique quilt becomes a colorful robe for Santa; a vintage coverlet is a dressing for a table in your home. Each unique and one of a kind rebirthed right here in Americas Heartland, Missouri.
